The Ynoa decision is going to be interesting. You'd expect paying him the MLB minimum salary to put him on the 60-Day IL to rehab wouldn't be a big deal with the payroll increase, but he's pitched so badly since he lost his cool and tried to beat up a dugout it's probably fair to wonder whether anyone else would pick him up to do the same if you DFA him. With Soroka active he was probably down to #12 on the SP depth chart (behind all of Fried, Wright, Strider, Morton, Odorizzi, Soroka, Anderson, Muller, Elder, Tarnok, Shuster). He may have even slipped further if they're believers in Vines. There's probably not much chance they have him taking up a roster spot for the next 12-14 months simply to save a little money.
Given how aggressive they've been with young Pitchers under Alex, there's at least some chance he has no path to a rotation spot by the time he gets back (even if there are injuries) - with all the young Pitchers to fill the rosters at the lower levels plus Schwellenbach returning from his surgery, there's a pretty good chance he'll be viewed strictly as a reliever when he returns (and one that's 26-27 years old with control problems at that).
