9/8... marlins game 2

Would any of you trade Folty for either of these two prospects: Kyle Tucker, lefty-hitting outfielder with the Astros or Francisco Mejia, switch-hitting catcher with the Indians? I don't know what it would take to acquire them, but they both seem to have great careers ahead of them.

I'd like to see Swanson lead off next season. I think he's gonna be a really high obp guy with his excellent eye

With Acuna...where would you put Kyle...trade Ender?

LF would be a pretty obvious choice, not sure how this is confusing. Not that the Astros are trading Tucker mind you, they wouldn't even give him up for a top tier pitcher this past deadline, much less in a trade for freaking Folty.

So you think we could move Kemp...good luck unless we are eating a good bit of that contract.

Oh, I agree. Won't be easy unless we are eating a good portion of that contract though.

Agree, but the Braves need to move forward in having younger prospects at every position. That's why I think Tucker and Mejia would fit our current needs. I hope Austin Riley's makes it to ATL by July 15.

Wouldn't really matter what we did with Kemp, Tucker wouldn't be up until 2019 sometime anyway most likely, around this time next season at the earliest.

There is a zero percent chance either of those prospects are traded to the Braves.

I would like to see the Braves swing a deal for Profar and stick him at 3b. He has higher upside than anyone the Braves might stick at 3b. Since the Rangers left him in AAA all season, he still comes with 3 years of control.

He's out of options, and has nowhere to play. The Rangers will almost certainly trade him, and the Braves have spare playing time for a former top prospect.

Profar has really shown he belongs in the majors. He's had a ton of success in his stints at the major league level.

And bc of that "success" he won't be expensive. Take a shot on him... maybe it works out and if not, we aren't really a contender next season anyway. Riley is gonna be our 3b in '19 though.

I would consider a package headlines by Tucker but by no means would I do 1 for 1. I like to get some quantity in my trades because you gotta diversify yo bonds.

As for Meijia, I don't like trading for catching prospects or drafting them in the first round. I feel like catching prospe rd just have a terrible track record. I can't help but laugh every time a team drafts a "safe high floor" catcher highly in the first round because they almost always busy or become backups. The only college catcher I would have crafted was Weiters and even he has been a massive disappointment based on his potential.
