AA Extended through 2031

7 year extensions seem quite unprecedented in this industry. But it makes sense to tie AA to the core he signed through the end. Wonderful news

As I said 2 weeks ago, this is the move we needed to make this winter above all else. Adding a few wins on a 100 win roster is great, but the architect was the prize. I’m glad they got this done and I’m hoping AA got paid

Agreed. Best move of the offseason.
AA and McGuirk have rebuilt the organization into one the best in baseball after the Hart / Coppy fiasco.
AA has some work to do on the farm system to keep the division titles coming but I think he’s up to the task.
I’m sure Mets, Phillies and Nats fans are depressed the morning. lol.

Time to avoid twitter the next two days so I don’t have to read all the dumb hot takes from Braves country on why this is a terrible move and how AA is an overrated GM.

This sets AA up to be the guy deciding how to transition from the Acuna/Albies core onto whatever core comes next.

The Braves are pretty much set for 2024 and 2025, but after that things are going to get very interesting as the Albies and Acuna deals run their course. There currently doesn't seem to be any position player talent in the farm to step in, which makes Kelenic vitally important.

Why doesn't AA send 1% to the Foundation?

Seems like a great move. Should allow him to have the stability to think long term and short term.
