AA says Braves can add payroll

6.5 games back on June 16th? Time to be realistic. Let the guys you have play and see if they can get hot and re-assess next month.

If it makes the team better going forward, cool. If it's really cheap, ok. Sometimes it just looks like AA is trying to open up 40 man slots with guys he knows he won't protect the next year.

But this year seems cursed to balance out the luck of last year (until we got up 3-1....).

Why would AA say it if it wasn’t true? Especially in a year when most teams are either maxed out or cutting payroll.

The fact that we have Liberty Media as owners probably has insulated us to a degree from the effects of the pandemic.

I'd go opposites because of the investment prospects of The Battery. I don't know how it is doing, but maybe Liberty thinks things will pick up there now that the country's opening again. Are there condominiums at The Battery? If so, the skyrocketing home prices may help the bottom line. If things are truly getting better, that might loosen Liberty's purse strings, but given how Liberty operated last year at the deadline when it was so obvious that someone like Starling Marte could put us over the top and they were reluctant to go in that direction even with considerable dollars coming off the books for 2021 makes me wonder about the reality of the situation. When Anthopoulos says we can add, he doesn't say by how much.

If that's the case, why not now? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time to do that?

Are we positive that ozuna is done for the braves this season?

Transfer can be retroactive. IMO waiting on resolution thru the court system, like setting a date!!! Bet the farm Ozuna will never suit up as a Brave again.
