Certainly a very interesting season, and a clear indication of the direction MLB is going in. Set the single season rookie record for strikeouts along with walks and Homer's. These days, nobody cares if you strike out. What's most interesting to me is, his minor league stats pale in comparison to what he did in the majors this year. Kind of came out of nowhere. I'm curious to see if he can sustain this.

Francoeur had 1/10 of the power and 1/100 the eye at the plate. Judge won't always hit 52 homers, but flaming out isn't happening.

I kind of agree with Rico. The K's are going to catch up to him. That said, I liked the BB% too, so maybe he finds a nice balance and becomes a good player for the next 6 years.

He put up an 8.2 fWAR.
Everyone's power was increased this season. He was definitely known for having light-tower power throughout his MiLB career. Like I said, I don't expect him to repeat this type of performance every year. But he's a much better player/hitter than Jeff freaking Francoeur.

The exit velocity tells you all you need to know. I was skeptical he would ever develop this kind of power because of his college and MiLB numbers, but it's clearly legit.

His power is definitely legit. His average and his defense I am far more skeptical of. Its possible that his .357 BABIP is sustainable, but if it comes down, then he is more likely a .250ish hitter with 40-50 home run power. His defense was basically average this year and it will decline steeply over the next few years. So instead of him being an 8 WAR player, I think he is more likely to be a 5 WAR player. Its possible that his defense becomes awful and he becomes a better version of Khris Davis. That still has a lot of value, but isn't really a superstar. If he can somehow manage to remain an average defender and maintain a high BABIP, he is a superstar.

My brothers are Yankee fans. I've been telling them all season, that his exit velocity is because he swings so hard, which is also the reason he strikes out so much. Remember that big slump. I expect more of that next season.

Judge looks like he will walk a good amount but if his avg/power dips then that walk % will drop pretty quick. Similar to how Harper's BB% spiked when he was hitting out of his mind in 2015. He has since cooled off from Ruthian levels and his BB% has dropped like you would expect it would.
