What's up with Sanchez? Is sims only up for today? BTW, anyone know how much a 1-game check is for the yo-yo crew?

If im not mistaken, if you are on the ML roster for 1 day, you get the minimum for the full year

I'm pretty sure it's prorated. Also I do believe if you are on the 40 man roster you get a bump too up from the other minor leaguers. Not sure if it matters with some of these guys still buy 1 day on the active roster gets you lifetime medical insurance and 43 days on the roster gets you a mlb pension.

This wasn't updated for 20 days. That's on us. Won't let it happen again, because this is a good idea

Braves release Aaron Blair, option Dustin Peterson, select contract of Peter Bourjos.

Odd that they’d straight release Blair, rather than 60-day DL him—though he nonetheless might be candidate to re-sign on a minor-league, recovery-&-make-good deal. I still think he could be groomed into a useful groundball roogy, Gryboski-lite type. But I’m also not holding my breath.

Update:

As for Blair, David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution tweets that the Braves will continue to pay for the right-hander’s rehab from shoulder surgery. It stands to reason that there’s a fair chance he’ll re-sign with the club on a new minor league deal where he can serve as a depth option in 2019 without occupying a spot on the big league 40-man roster.

To be fair, it's a lot tougher to keep things current with the excessive use of the Atlanta-Gwinnett shuttle and 10-Day DL juggling.

Given the composition of the staff/roster at the moment, I’d hardly call it “excessive”. I’d characterize it as “expedient” or even “scrupulous” use.

"Excessive" compared to past years - not meant to be a criticism. Previous regimes were incapable of utilizing it as effectively as AA can. Liberal use would've been a better choice there.

Will say I hope we're not going to see D-Pete back up here if Snit isn't told to get him ABs - he doesn't need to be riding the pine wherever he is at this juncture. If he wasn't going to be playing over Culberson while Acuna's out, Bourjos should've been the one called up in the first place IMO.

Yea, the Peterson move is strange—unless the plan was to get him a start, but Culberson’s walk-off heroics changed the calculus. Given Inciarte’s the only capable cf on the roster, I’m regardless likewise surprised it wasn’t Bourjos from the start.

A little surprising that there's been no report of a roster move to activate Viz for tonight - guessing Jackson gets DFAd again.

Wish they wouldn't. Jackson actually has been decent. I'm betting he gets claimed if we do this too much
