It's OVER 5,000!
Or you know, grammy boost. The Suburbs sold a **** ton of more albums after winning best album.
for sure, but kanye helped, too.

The "clever" lines thing is one of the most annoying tropes in new rap. It seemingly started it's rise in popularity with young money rappers and even guys who've been around picked up on it to stay relevant (Eminem and Jay Z have been caught doing it)
for sure, but kanye helped, too.
huh? what are you talking about?
give me examples? I'm honestly confused. I mean things like:
i made jesus walks, i'm never going to hell
couture level flow, it's never going on sale
luxury rap, the hermes of verses,
sophisticated ignorance, write my curses in cursive.
I always love the "(insert genre here) music died in (insert cliche time period)" arguments.
music as a whole keeps getting better. it's evolving and it's different, but there's more access, integration, innovation, and ideas than ever before.
Ehhh, Kanye helped Kanye. He is building his buzz. There's a reason he married kim. Not cause of her appearance, Amber Rose is 1000 times hotter, it's for the attention. Why did he name his kid North? Attention. Dude craves attention.
From a consumer perspective point, he's correct. If you have 100 rap artists, 7 are good 25 are rubbish, the genre explodes now there's 10,000 rap artists and 4 thousand ar egood and 6 thousand are rubbish it hurts.
Rap is worse than it was, and better than it was. It is both. Without the rise in popularity, there wouldn't have been space for guys like say Aesop Rock,
By clever I assume you meant things like.
"I keep it 300, like the Romans"
The idea of using a relateable line (Shake and bake, Ricky Bobby) as a means to a rhyme that people think is clever.
I disagree with pretty much all of that.
I don't really think Kanye needs to perform publicity stunts to help his "buzz." He's won 21 grammy's, every album has gone platinum, he's considered one of the best/most innovative producers in the bizz. i think he does some dumb **** without thinking, but i don't believe for a second he did the taylor swift or beck thing thinking "oh this will help out my already long, established career." it was dumb, he shouldn't do it, but i don't think there was much thinking involved, it was genuine.
also for the record he's loved kim for a while, like from when he first met her in the early 2000s. also i think she's hotter than amber rose, if only because i really don't like shaved heads on women.
disclaimer: I'm a 'Yetheist
Eh, not so much. I can appreciate certain lines like that, because every song, or every line in a song, doesn't have to be a masterpiece. different songs/lines serve different purposes.
Well he was drunk for the T-Swizzle stunt and was still edgy. He wasn't gonna stage rush Beck. He just did that as a joke for attention. He thought it was funny and when it was brought up later he ran with it, for attention. Being popular and selling doesn't mean that you don't still want more attention and more money.
Sorry, Kim is plastic butt (pun semi-intended) bald head or not, Amber rose is 1000 times hotter cause she's natural. I'm sure he loved Kim, cause she's a bigger fame whore than he is. So much to learn.
Seriously, it's a terrible trope. It's a crutch that people for some reason enjoy.
kim wasn't nearly as popular in the early 2000s as she is now. so your point there doesn't make much sense. she was known, but there's no way he could tell her popularity was going to, somehow, rise up so high, especially considering she's popular for nothing, really. i think it's silly to say he married someone and had a child with them just for more media attention. he doesn't even like media attention for the most part. you have no idea what their relationship is like and how they feel towards each other, and neither do i, so i won't make assumptions.
i just disagree that he's an attention whore. he's honest and makes himself an easy target, but a large majority of the stuff he does, i don't think he does it for attention. he's polarizing so people want to get on the boat for views and clicks, but i think he generally just does what he wants, whether it garners attention or not.
i could do without the condescension though, especially from you.
You would definitely lick his balls. Funny, that a corny, white Cowboys fans sucks Kayne's dick so hard.

Less creepy than idolizing Kayne West and Dez Bryant.
I find it hard to believe that Kanye doesn't like the media attention. He's no Kurt Cobain. He displays several characteristics of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. DOes he actually have that? Who knows.
And I'll be condescending if I feel like it. Sorry if I have a strong opinion on music, it's something that i've spend a heck of a long time in my life obsessing over. I've been playing music for almost 15 years now, and obviously been obsessing over it for longer than that.
i know, it is shocking people look for different things in music than you. why can't we all be zito?
