Acuna called up

Super pumped but this should have happened much sooner. Hopefully we don't miss out on a WC by a game or 2.

Now lets play Camargo and use Bautista to give days off to Nick and Freddie during the year while sneaking him at third every now and again.

Call up Goahara/Soroka.

Get Flowers healthy.

Game on...

I don't agree with it either, but there's absolutely no doubt Bautista is starting at third for us. Camargo will fill in and be a spot-starter.

I am excited to see him. I'll be very excited when an extension is announced next offseason. Hopefully we can buy out some of those late twenties. Even if the last team option is a team option for 50 million, we might want to pay that in 7 years.

I still think AA did the right thing with him. I still think Tucker was a great addition for us and could be a 1 WAR starting OF with a 2 WAR ceiling. I like Tucker on the bench. I think once you play the service time game you need the young guy to be playing really well before you bring him up. And I think when you bring him up you have to be committed to him playing every day (OK with him sitting down vs a tough righty every 10 games or so if you must).

I do not understand your obsession with Comargo.
Gohara is no where near ready. Soroka is 21 and the starters have been fine. Soroka would likely be on some insane innings restriction.

upgrading the bench from Culberson, Burojas, Pena, Comargo to Flaherty/Bautista, Tucker, Flowers/Suzuki and Comargo is a HUGE improvement.

I think the pen is better than they are showing. And I think we have options in the minors. I have an irrational thought of Weigel coming up after the deadline and being an impact BP arm. I do think Minter, Winkler and Viz are good pen arms. I love Carle so far. I think BP Wisler who focuses on Slider first and FB 93+ in a short outing could be good.

It's a LONG season folks.

And if we miss the WC by a couple of games then we were 10+ games better than I thought we were.
At the beginning of the year I said I wanted:
FF to be FF and healthy
Swanson, Albies, Acuna to show that they are all 3+ WAR players and at least one to be a star
Minter healthy and high leverage
Figure out if Gohara, Folty and Newcombe are MLB starters

I think if we are that close to the WC then we've had really good years from the guys that are long term pieces that matter.

Does this mean we are finally rid of Bourjos? Keeping Tucker adds fresh legs, and a LH bench bat. Then we rid our selves of Culberson when Bautista arrives, pushing out of our dreams of a Camargo at 3rd. How long Bautista lasts is a dart board special.

This would seem logical.

I was going to start a Tucker Watch thread on how bad he's been since the date Acuna could have been called up. This saves me some time.

Look I’m excited as the next guy about Acuna but isn’t this just simply a ploy to cover what the real problem is....the fckn pitching. Acuna can come out and hit 30+ HRs the rest of the season but it simply won’t amount to much when our pitching staff can’t hold a lead.

He sucks bc he sucks. How many double switches this year have cost us ABs from our better hitters?

Last night was the most recent time of costing ABs from better hitters. PH with Camargo and take out Albies?? Going to extra innings I'd prefer Albies over a declining Flaherty who was weak all night.

Our staff hasn't been an issue this year. Not even in the least. Our bullpen on the other hand.
