Affordable Care Act

WASHINGTON -- The Congressional Budget Office has released updated estimates on the Affordable Care Act's impact on both the budget and the health insurance industry. The findings show that the president's signature health care law is actually growing cheaper to implement, costing the government $5 billion less in 2014 than was previously projected. The law also is projected to cover more individuals than previously believed, owing, in part, to some broader workforce trends.

post / share the application you submitted to ACA and will see what I can do.

I'm there for ya

I don't know how to do that... But let's just say that I make too much money to qualify for those amazing subsidies...

So the quote I was given (for comparable coverage) was actually 127% higher than was I am paying this year. It is 310% higher than what I paid last year. My deductible was twice as much.

I live in Arlington, VA. I'm a young, healthy male.

So tell me, how could I have avoided that 78% increase?

No, let's not "just say...."

You posted a dubious claim then made unreasonable demands. Now you "don't know how to do that" !!!
Seems not the only thing you don't know how to do.

"let's just say..."
you're a piece of work

You as usual have confused me... I didn't take screen shots of my offer. So "I don't know how to post the images of my quote"

"Let's just say" - that not good enough for you? What do you want me to say? You want me to tell you my salary? It's too high for the subsidies that the poor folks are relying on folks like me to provide. Sucks for me. Good for them, I guess.

I'm STILL waiting. How could I have avoided. I've given you the numbers. The Obamacare exchanges were a non-starter for me as it was a HORRIBLE deal. So how could I have avoided the 78% increase?

STILL waiting

Yeah, you stand by this claim of 79 or 78 or 50% (seems to change with the weather) without any numbers to back it up except you have a great boss and you make too much money. I'm sorry Sturg but I see this number in the context of your unfounded constant ranting of the evils of ACA as just one more issue to be debunked with time and data. Except in this case there is no data.

Why if you are getting such a good deal did you reference your raise in rates? Like I said earlier, you were either getting it for free before and now have to ante up or ---- well, let's not go there

If you don't wish to divulge personal information on a message board - don't use your finances as a model. Because it will get called out.

From where I sit, pay your 79% because it is the law. And move on BUT, be prepared to be reminded of "79" when you make such a foolish mistake again

And for gods sake, quit digging

LOL... You are a ****ing idiot

Here's the numbers:

In 2013 I paid $28 per check for my health, vision, and dental. I get paid 26 times a year

In 2014, I pay $50 per check for health, vision, and dental. Still get paid 26 times a year

The ObamaCare exchange offered me comparable insurance for $246 a month. I paid $61 a month in 2013 and am paying $108 a month this year. The deductible was twice as much as well.

So I'll ask one last time, how could I have avoided that 78% increase?

why so cheap in 2013?

What did and didn't the policy cover?
Were you (no snark intended) paying the full amount or was part of your employment agreement that your HC would be supplemented?
Do you smoke?
Any other health issues?
I take it you are single
Where do you live(I know you said before - but like Zeet says, I will need help in a couple years ) ?

Once again, if the 78-9% number was a systemic and not an outlier would you agree your claim would not be the only one we hear?
Reason I say that is I have heard of rises in people of your age group -- but your 78-9% rise is the most drastic one I've seen or heard of. Again, of 78-9% increases were at all common If it were Fox would have a 24/7 stream of victims. Leading me to believe -- something is not right

Is that understandable?
