AFL RESULTS 2018 ... Daily results (updated 10/30)

As all-star break approaches, here are stats (thru Halloween):

Pache (.288-0-6)
Didder (.267-0-1, 5/5 SB)
Davidson (.222-3-7)
Wilson (.235-0-2)

Walker (0-1, 8.56, 4 G)
Burrows (0-0, 2.45, 5 G)
McCreery (0-0, 6.75, 4 G, 1 save)
Muller (1-0, 1.13 5 G, 11 K in 8 IP)

I think Burrows' performance since he was bumped to Mississippi is going to make for some interesting discussions for AA and his folks as they start molding the roster. Has he shown them enough to get a shot in the MLB pen? If not, are they ready to pull the plug on Gohara or Fried as SPs?

Spending significant money on the pen isn't ideal, but can they honestly afford to leave camp with as many questions out there as they had in 2018?

Super checkered arm history. Velocity comes and goes and I think he's been shut down more than once. Same with Wentz.

I think you'd include either if someone was intrigued.
It's not uncommon for a HS pitcher to have a dead arm. When he first got into the system, he (Muller) had fluctuating velocity but arm strength training helped him sustain velocity a lot later in starts and that's more than encouraging. He's done it for one year, now is the test. Can he back it up? And in many of his starts that I got to see, he maintained great to above average velocity upwards of 5 - 6 innings. They handled him cautiously as well.

I do agree though, that depending on the trade, he'd not be a dealbreaker necessarily. He's by no means a throw-in though.

It was an actual question... Rico stated above that Davidson had 3 HRs. Was just checking if yesterday's 2 HRs were in those 3. I understand with me being a Mississippian that I might have actually thought 2 + 2 = 5... we usually stop making that mistake around age 30

Just 4, man.

Davidson now leading AFL in homers along with a .275 average. Could it be .... ?

Nah

For those who are math challenged

One homer October 23rd
Two homers Oct. 30th
Two homers Oct. 31st

Are they calling him "Great White Bear II" yet?

Pache looked really good tonight. He's close - closer than a lot of folks think. The bat can use more time if they hope power's coming, but he's not so far off that AA can't at least listen on Inciarte deals now if somebody really likes him. If what we got from Ender in 2018 is where his offense is going to settle, Cristian can give you that sometime this season.

Pache has only a a couple of dozen AA games under his belt. That’s ridiculous to even talk about trading Ender and playing Pache this year. The very best case for Pache would be calling him up June 2020

Monday...

"Braves (Peoria)
Braves' No. 6 prospect Cristian Pache was 1-for-4 and designated hitter Braxton Davidson was hitless. Jeremy Walker made the start and was tagged for six runs in nine hits in 3 1/3 innings."
