AHCA

So folks who have serious health issues and are denied insurance or are forced to pay unaffordable rates just...go bankrupt and die? Sounds great. Stay healthy, partna.

Thats the way it worked for 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of history. They way some people react to this you would think Obamacare has always been there forever and all of a sudden the world will fall apart if it goes away. What did people with pre-existing conditions do before Obamacare? Life isnt fair. Maybe they should pray to their god for help. The reality of the world is survival of the fittest. If I get cancer tomorrow I will probably die. Its not your or anyone elses responsibility to pay for my treatment. I am old enough that I could have worked hard and got a good job to make real money or get a job with health insurance. That I work a **** job for **** pay is my fault and not anyone elses. I am all for helping kids and those born with severe disabilities but outside of that I think people need to take responsibility for themselves. If you want healthcare maybe dont **** around in school or get a college degree in feminist dance theory.

Also, how do doctors and hospitals support themselves if no one can afford medical treatment except the rich?

edit - Why is it wrong to tell people who say they believe in God to pray for his help instead of asking other people to pay for their care? If you believe in God and you got cancer then maybe thats what your god wanted for you. Dont ask for other people to pay for your care then say its your God taking care of you. Thats bullcrap. When these people are ready to admit their God isnt going to help them and that faith in God isnt going to protect them, then I might have some sympathy for them. When bad **** happened to me as a kid and people told me it was a part of Gods plan I said well **** him then. If he exists that mother ****er has needs to ask for my forgiveness and not the other way around.

For a vast majority of human history we enslaved people, but I don't see many people aiming to go back to that. Perhaps some of us feel that we should progress toward less people dying of various diseases.

More Black people in slavery today than at any point prior to the civil war.

Anyways, no one has any right to take from others to pay for their healthcare. Most of us have the opportunity to go to school, get a good degree and get a job that either provides healthcare or pays enough to buy good healthcare. If you squander that opportunity and end up working at 7/11 I dont feel sorry for you if you get health problems when you are 45 and cant pay for it. Health insurance for all sounds good but good intentions does not equal good results.

ah, principles.

I forget who the poster was back when that likened off shore drilling to core values.

To chorus' led by (R) polls , " drill baby drill "

We need to ask ourselves what kind of people cut $880 billion from Medicaid and go on TV and say they just improved it?

Obamacare lowered uninsured rate to record lows of 9%. CBO says AHCA would take it to 19% (highest since 1960s).

The same kind of people that believe throwing $880 billion at Medicaid naturally improves it.

please detail your point because "throwing money at ... " though colorful to a targeted audience is very vague

please share Medicaid reforms you advocate

Agreed
politics are at least 10 years away. Then implementation -
it is coming

It took since the Teddy Roosevelt administration to get ACA --
..................

but we are not 10 years down the road we are here and the current proposals are cutting $800B from the existing program while proponents of said "reform" lie faster than you can say universal healthcare.

Next question is, aren't the people cutting the $800B the same people that blocked single payer back when ?
