Its the first paragraph of the article he linked

"The Braves haven’t named a new general manager yet, but they hired a highly regarded scouting guru away from the New York Yankees to serve as a special assistant to that GM."
 
This move along with the Porter rumors just reaffirms my suspicion that:

1) John Hart indeed is going to take the full time GM position in the short term with Coppella as his assistant and GM in waiting in 2-3 years AND

2) Hart has made the decesion to keep Fredi as on field manager.

Fredi even went to Carolina for the Mudcats press conference.
 
But if this guy is special assistant to the GM then where does that leave Coppolella? Will he feel slighted by this move or will he go along with it? Will Coppolella be named GM but Hart staying on as essentially the true GM of the team?

Assistant GM, much like Wren was to JS.
 
The fact that he has worked with John Coppolella before is a pretty good indication that Coppy will at the very least be the GM in waiting.
