Urias was called up and he'll pitch Saturday.
Kershaw on Friday, Urias on Saturday, fun fun.
Sounds like mallex will have the weekend off

Bet he's in against Urias. Frenchy gets Kershaw.
Wood could come in and shoot kershaw in the head and the trade is what it is. It doesn't change players value at time of trade. Just like HO could hit a woman and get suspended and oh wait.
It was a horrible trade, no one can defend that trade.
All GM's make mistakes in all sports, just the way it goes.
But im sure it makes you happy to bash the FO.

Sad that some idiots think that's what the thread is about - particularly since no one has posted anything of the sort. Yet another example of you trying to put words in someone else's mouth. Keep trying troll.
It's news - plain and simple, and bad news for a good kid (and personal favorite since he grew up less than 90 miles from here).
The biggest news about it - since YOU brought it up - is that no matter how much you want to hate on the current regime, they're right in trying to continue to stockpile arms - no matter how bad your offense is. Cheap arms and established bats is pretty much the only way small- and mid-market teams can compete. If huge chunks of your payroll are committed to players who are "one pitch away" and you don't have multiple inexpensive options available behind them, you're screwed.
I've always been (and still am) fine with contenders blowing the budget for an "Ace" or a "star" - if he's the last piece. However, if your other important support pieces are Pitchers with injury histories that you can't easily replace, you're playing with fire. The Dodgers gambled and lost on Beachy, the Royals have gambled and lost on Medlen and Minor to this point. If they want to stay in the race, they're going to have to eventually empty their farm systems because there aren't any free-agent arms to buy in June.
If that is how you want to spin it
I guess I should expect you to start a thread every time a pitcher hits the DL then?
Kershaw is the best pitcher of his generation. On the path to rival Pedro and Maddux as the best pitchers I've ever seen. Odds that we get no hit have to be pretty high.
Didn't the Braves get like 10 hits off of him earlier in the season already...they didn't score much, but I thought they did at least hit him.
I can't recall but if true screams fluke.
HO hits women better than he does baseballs. Alex could never pitch again and HO could have never hit that woman and it's still a bad trade because HO is bad baseball player.

Well, you know, Coppy isn't a faithful follower of all things Billy Beane, so he must be trash.
Come on. The trade was awful. Almost everyone said so when it happened. Dodgers were considered the winners by most people.
They thought they were getting a middle of order bat at 3B at a discount price. And they were wrong from day 1. And then it got worse. Now he's a 5, 6, 7 hitter. Now he's a 7th hitter. Now he can't play 3rd. Now he is just an extra guy. Now he's arrested. Then Paco had TJ before throwing a pitch for us. Bird can't put it together.
Yep. They touted how Olivera was a terrific hitter who would anchor the middle of the lineup and solve our third base problem for years. I think the predictions I heard were that he'd hit around .300 with 20 HRs a year. I even heard hype about his speed.
However, anyone actually watching Olivera these days for more than a showcase workout will instantly see that his swing is terrible, he has no power, and he has a lead glove. There was a reason the Dodgers got rid of him. They got to see him up close and saw he was terrible. So they bailed on him the first chance they got to sucker a team into taking him.
I think if SAV ever wanted to cast this message board to re-enact the history of the Braves, Sturg would play Frank Wren, and clvclv would play the Johns.
