Andrelton Simmons Batting 2nd tonight (Unofficial GDT 9/2/'14 vs. Phillies)

Putting Justin at 2nd wouldn't do much.

Because the other team would just walk Freeman to load the bases, K Gattis for the first out, and K CJ or make him GIDP before we even see TLS.

When you put extremely poor offensive players in your top 6 you aren't going to consistently score runs. To me it's a philosophy problem with the organization. I just get the feeling they value someone like Bethancourt over someone like La Stella. Seems like if someone can hit .270 it doesn't matter their OBP is only around .300 because it's not what they look for. Jeff Francoeur might still be on this team if he came up now. And of course players like Simmons and Bethancourt can be very valuable parts of a team but you can't have half the lineup with these types of "hitters" and you sure as hell can't put them at the top of the order because you live and die by alternating lefties and righties no matter what.

It's nights like these that makes me grateful for the extra innings package, so I can see actual major league teams play.

You think changing the order around is going to make any difference? And jeez, La Stella is hardly ripping it up. There's no fixing this without new players. There just isn't.

PS--And what is with the non sequitur regarding Bethancourt. He's not even in the game.

We can look on the bright side of things, at least this should precipitate some sort of changes during this off season. This can't continue next year.

Also best thing is with my work schedule the rest of the week, I actually have the pleasure of not suffering through tomorrow's and Friday's game.

I know it's only 2 games but 1 run in the last 3 games including a no hitter this is just not our year let the coaching blow up (outside of McDowell ) commence. This team is lost, lifeless and leaderless. Let Hart handle free agency and wren take care of trades and stocking the bullpen. It's unorthodox but it lets Wren concentrate on his strengths

We can't beat the Phillies in September. it's ****ing pathetic.

Fredi might as well just have a bullseye around his ass when the Phils come around in September. Between knocking us out in 2012 and probably knocking us out this year too.

1 run on 23 hits in the last 36 innings for the #Braves. In that span, they're hitting .182 as a team and have K'd 40 times.
