Angels considering moving Trout?

Sadly the Cubs could trade for Trout and not get gutted all that much especially with the money advantage they have.

Schwarber, Contreras, McKinney and Torres, with maybe one more player could get interesting.

I don't think that gets them close. They would almost certainly have to include Bryant. The Cubs probably wouldn't do it, but that's exactly why even if they wanted to trade Trout, a deal would likely be impossible.

Depends how much they'd like McKinney/Contreras but Cubs do have the system to get him.

Red Sox probably do, given Dombroski's lack of love for a farm system, i could see him gut their system for him. Whether LA would do the deal is another story.

But most farm systems aren't good enough to get Trout without giving up serious major league talent as well. The Dodgers, with Seager, Urias, and de Leon, may be the only team in baseball who could get him without giving up established major leaguers. The Cubs seriously would have to give up either Rizzo or Bryant in addition to several of those prospects. It's Mike Trout, you're not getting him unless you give up way more than anyone's comfortable with giving up.

McKinney, btw, is OPS'ing under .600 in AA.

The thing about Trading for Trout, is that at the price the Angels want, any team that gets him is probably (as someone else said) just trading places with them. One really good player without a team to surround him with.

A lot of teams will probably make offers that the Angels will scoff at, and rightfully so... but for a trade to actually happen, that asking price will have to come down. If it does, he will be traded. If it doesn't, this is all just conjecture and he will likely stay put.

I could certainly be wrong, but that is how I see it.
