Another Day - Another Insane anti-religion story

So you've changed your mind on whether or not this is discrimination?

I agree with you, by the way, like I've already said.

I don't see how this is discrimination. It's like offering a coupon. Everyone can do it, and it's not even relegated to religion.

In your example, you're targeting me and punishing me for something.

It would be discrimination if you had two different price points for people based on Thier religious views but you have a right to be as charitable as you want to whomever you want.

Oh, it was more to build atmosphere regarding who the confrontation would be with, but it is hard for us to get a piece of the death action, you guys have been milking that zombie cow dry for centuries.

Well now, y'all are pretty handy with a guillotine and gulags and such. Y'all need to figure out how to do something more that just massive trenches. ;-)

Everyone CAN'T do it, because they aren't offered the choice.

So, it IS discrimination to charge you more, but it is NOT discrimination to charge everyone but you less?

Yeah. My grandma always said those horrible non-Christians were going to use all the sport stadiums and arenas to feed Christians to the lions and such in the near future (that's why we weren't allowed to play sports or go to games). The way the Braves are playing, I'm starting to see her point.

For the record, I meant the business of profiting from death (having cemeteries, for example), not causing it--that's a different discussion altogether.

And that's a perfect definition of bigotry. You continue to teach by example.

Methinks someone doesn't like it when the shoe is on the other foot.

But actually to say that a group is bigoted isn't bigotry. Bigotry is "stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own."

I tolerate the anti-religion-atheists/agnostic-religious bigots just fine. I just hope their numbers don't really increase.

And for the record our cemetery plot fee just basically covers the upkeep of the cemetery. And I never, ever, ever charge or would charge for a funeral. It's my duty, my calling, my responsibility and my privilege. Fwiw.

Sorry about your grandmother. But I'm sure you loved/love her.

Good to hear.

I'm deciding to become an overly sensitive insane religious person.

I'm going to sue Starbucks because they don't agree with my religion!

I think a key difference is, christians are a big majority that dictate a lot of **** in this country.

You don't sound very tolerant to me. You're calling people who disagree with YOU bigots.

I accept that there is a growing number of anti-religious zealots, but religious "fraternities" only have themselves to blame.

I didn't join a fraternity in college but I wasn't against having fun, I just didn't like the fraternities' way of having fun. A big part of that fun is putting down folks from other fraternities or those with no fraternity at all. Face it Bedell, you're just a frat boy who can't stand the idea of your fraternity not being #1.

I have no idea about most funeral fees, but when my dad died I was told to pay anywhere from $50 to $100. That was over 20 years ago. Remembering it now it's a little funny. At the time I was so grief stricken I forgot to pay him, but he hung around in my view afterward until I remembered. Then he was gone in an instant.

No, I'm not. I am saying the anti-religion, atheist/agnostic-religionists are. You know the sort of folks we are talking about.

But again, saying someone is bigoted doesn't mean that you are a bigot.

Seriously Runnin, you make jabs all the time at those not of your ilk. So spare me.

He ain't me.
