Left-hander Dail Villanueva, a lanky lefty cut loose by the Cardinals, have been signed by the Braves and assigned to Advanced Class A Carolina. Was a 10-game winner in 2012, but pitched in only three games last year before going on the disaled list in April 12, 2013. Released in late June.b

In 2009, he received a 50-game suspension for using a performance enhancing drug. Reinstated June, 2010.
