Another unarmed black man gunned down

And the people who shout "2nd Amendment!" are, ironically, the ones least worried about it and most likely to defend it.

Well, I'm not sure irony has anything to do with it, since the second amendment has nothing to do with arming government officials. In fact, it has everything to do with arming the citizenry to protect itself against the armed government.

That's my point.
The part of government we need to protect ourselves from is, apparently, the police.

Aren't you essentially making the second amendment'ers point? I don't understand why you consider this ironic.

The police is in every dystopia is the government's hand of oppression; e.g., the British redcoats sole purpose was to enforce British law.

The second amendment at its core was about protecting your civil rights from the police.

Right.
The people who scream 2nd amendment don't give a **** about police gunning people down on a daily basis - they tend to think it's OK and justify it. It's ironic because you'd think they'd care about the government shooting people dead on the reg. But they don't, because police. They fervently defend the people they claim they need a gun to protect themselves against.

Not I...

That cuts both ways.

FWIW, I'm pro gun control.

3 times more whites are killed by cops than blacks are. Does that concern you because you never post about that?

It does concern me. But your stats are wrong and misleading. In 2015 Whites were killed 2 times as often as blacks. When adjusted for population though is where you see the dubious distinction. Whites outnumber blacks in the population pool 5 to 1. So you see the discrepancy right?

Are you willing to discuss this topic logically? I'm disappointed by your lack of honest discussion on this issue. I've always viewed you as a reasonable person rather than a troll.

Not if you consider bringing up a different story as being part of the topic. People are rioting in Charlotte, and whoever is committing crimes while doing so should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, as should Police for killing unarmed civilians.

I read somewhere that the guy in Tulsa was on PCP and being uncooperative with the police. Has that been verified in any official way or just hearsay?

Only thing that changes is second degree murder to manslaughter. No reason to use deadly force because someone is high.

Also the arresting cop had 2 previous excessive force complaints. But yeah, this guy totally deserved to die because maybe he was high on PCP. This is all bull****, cop won't go to trial anyway because being a cop is a legal right to kill someone and just say you were afraid for your life.

Yup, are you familiar with tasers? Or handcuffs or any other thing. Ignoring the fact that this man made no aggressive actions towards

So you're not familiar with PCP. Tasers don't stop people on PCP. It takes 4-5 people to even get someone on PCP under control.

I believe there were 3-4 cops right there.

And there are literally tons of videos online of people on PCP being arrested, all of them acting way more erratic than this guy who wasn't acting obviously high by his movements at all. And before today, no one mentioned him being high as part of the visual assessment IIRC.

I'm concerned about the sheer number of people shot by police, white or black. It is an insane number in this country. And the people who shout "2nd Amendment!" are, ironically, the ones least worried about it and most likely to defend it.

Not sure I buy that. Some of the loudest voices out there in regards to police brutality are gun toting libertarians. Also, I haven't looked this up, but it wouldn't exactly be a shock to find that the vast majority of police shootings involve a person with an illegally owned gun.

And your stat is misleading as well since it doesn't take into account that blacks commit 40% of violent crime and thus police are more likely to encounter black people relative to their population. Also, studies have shown that when all things are equal police officers are actually less likely shoot a black person than a white person. And that's the stat that actually matters.
