Are the Braves the worst team in baseball?

Don't look now, but the Braves don't have the worst record in baseball at the moment. Twins are really stinking things up.

Referencing an earlier post, the Braves line-up is bad, but looking at the Phillies' line-up tonight, they aren't that much better.

Exactly on the Phillies, they just seem to have a rotation of pitchers playing above their heads. I think all of these meaningless early season wins are going to cost them come draft order time.

Wow the Reds bullpen is bad. How can they win games with a pen that bad? They only have 2 relievers with an ERA under 4. JJ Hoover went full Kolb with a 10+ ERA and FIP.

We have the worst position players in baseball, Reds have the worst pitching in baseball (according to fangraphs), Reds have second worst position players in baseball, we have the 8th worst pitching. So according to fangraphs, no we're not the worst, we're the 2nd worst

WE'RE NUMBER 2! WE'RE NUMBER 2! WE'RE NUMBER 2!

And let's see where the Phillies and Padres are in September. Especially after the Padres sell off at the deadline.

I don't know, our hitters may be bad enough to overcome that pitching gap.

I think our bench and best AAA players could outhit our starters

I agree... and what that should tell us is that this team is about the future, not the present. Lots of placeholders, and guys we either hope to trade, or are willing to just cut when it is time for the youngsters to come up. If the goal were to win now, we could probably be better than we are right now, but it would come at the cost of the future. I am glad the Braves seem to be resisting that temptation.

As pitiful as this 2016 iteration of the Braves is, I think the Reds may be the worst team in baseball. Having said that, we are right there at or near the bottom of the barrel.

Normally I can tolerate Chip-&-Joe's aw-shucks, rose-fogged-glasses, sans-relevant-content approach to commentating; I can even find it a good source of humor. But in this very lost of seasons—when pretty much everyone else sees, admits, and operates under the auspices that the team's building for future years—it'd be nice if they maybe called the games as such, instead of fatuously talking about each game as if the team is just about over the hump to 2016 competitiveness.

I know that's not all on them; I know Chip was already fired once in his young career (back in Chicago, alongside Steve Stone, a much better color-guy than Simpson) for "calling it like he saw it" in his organization's garbage season; and I don't expect them to drone on throughout every game about precisely how bad this team really is. But—and I have this same complaint with the front-office's three-throated communications—I'd like for them to spend a lot more time talking about how this manure is currently fertilizing the roots of future success, subsequently to blossom, instead of just trying to spruce-up the turd-salad with a fat, saccharine bottle of Thousand Platitude Dressing.

Weren't Chip & Joe ranked 29th in a recent poll of TV announcers? They ARE terrible, what I wouldn't give to have Chip, Pete, Ernie and Don Sutton back...

I would flip the radio guys for the tv guys.

Sorry radio listeners.

I also think Fox won't touch Chip because his last name. It would be a bad PR move because skip was so loved. I really really miss hearing Pete though.
