... And AJ Burnett has quickly become entirely disinterested in recording outs.
 
Sometimes I wish our hitters collectively could recognize when a pitcher just doesn't have it that day and is all over and instead of bailing him out by swinging at trash, they let the pitcher self destruct with walks to kill his confidence.

Cardinals are putting on a clinic right now.
 
I almost can't stomach watching the Cardinals. I live in northwest Arkansas, and like to have Twitter open when watching sports because I've got a group of 7-10 friends that usually end up watching the same games/events and we get into different discussions. But four of them are Cardinals fans (as are the majority of the people that live in this part of Arkansas) and they are your typical arrogant, douchey Cardinals fan when their team is winning.

And I had no hope in the Pirates in this series. Not saying it's done, yet, but the Cardinals are just the better team. Still kind of pissed we let HFA slip away, because I think there's a semi-distinct gap between the Pirates and the other 3 NL playoff teams. Oh, and it also seems like the Cardinals never lose in the LDS. I know they did 3 or 4 years ago to the Dodgers, but it just seems/feels like they always at least get to the NLCS.

And I feel anytime anyone mentions Heyward not being healthy in 2013, it should always and forever come with a disclaimer. I mean the poor guy couldn't catch a break. First appendicitis and appendectomy, and then he gets smashed in the face by a pitch, breaking his jaw. It's like the baseball gods decided to make a Jason Heyward voodoo doll this year and toy with him.

Or, maybe the baseball gods just made an Atlanta Braves voodoo doll given all the semi-serious and serious injuries to key players we had to suffer through this year.
 
Yea, I don't think I can stomach it now that this travesty's gone down. I've been following at work, hoping the Pirates would grab the lead and thus it'd be a palatable pre-game choice of entertainment.
 
Couple notes that caught my eye.

Cards not starting Miller? He's their 2nd best pitcher. Instead you go Lynn, Kelly, Wacha......WTF?

Dusty running out Bruce and Choo vs. Liriano, who dominates lefties and neither of those guys can hit them.
 
Well at least they came out to play. Rebounded nicely after last night's debacle. Let's see if we can do the same. I hope to see some brown stainage on Greinke's backside after we rattle him.
 
A-Rod suing MLB and Bud Selig over his suspension. I have to wonder if he would be trying this if not witnessing the success of the Saints players suing Goodell over Goodellgate. The fact that MLB is enthusiastic about releasing the evidence where as Goodell refused to do so makes me think MLB has a pretty open and shut case against him.

I said the same, a little strange unless Miller reached his innings cap.

Not sure it matters today since they scored one run.
