Around Baseball 2015 Edition

He should get the bulk of the playing time at 2nd. This isn't a team that's trying to win. It's to see what pieces we have that could help in the future.

While the talent and trades makes the fans think we aren't going for it....that's not what management thinks and because the rest of the NL East and NL sucks, we are in the race, for now. Jace has been brutal, he's not doing anything well other than his IsoOBP....he's been a negative WAR. 2 small sample sizes this year and last but he's been a giant negative on O the last 2 years.

Watching that guy at the plate leads me to believe he will not be a negative on offense. He is hitting the ball hard and is having good AB's. Guy is seeing over 4 pitches an atbat. He was hurt a bit yesterday but has been good defensively. There is absolutely zero reason why he shouldn't be playing everyday.

Based on what? He turns 25 in a week, it's not even like he is some young hot shot prospect. I don't get the love for this guy

Nobody is expecting him to be Robinson Cano but there is no reason to think he can't be an averagish or slightly better second basemen for the controlled years the Braves have on him.

Considering it's likely managment that told Fredi to player Jace more then I'm positive they aren't all that concerned about wins this year.

If he sucks he sucks. Play him and see what you have. Again, this team isn't doing anything this year. So if he sucks it's not that big of a deal. .

Jace should 100% be playing every day, IMO. You have to see what you have in the guy, and there's no other way to do it. Let him get steady ABs and steady time in the field.

MLB source tells me Wednesday's #WhiteSox-Orioles game will be first MLB game ever played without fan admittance

@Ken_Rosenthal

Source: Hamilton vetoed trade to another club, a trade in which he would not have relinquished any cash. Wanted to return to #Rangers.

Anyone know the team? I don't think it was Arizona as some have speculated.

Haven't heard. Had wondered if that morsel wasn't just floated out there by the Angels so as to appear that they didn't simply give Hamilton away (which, make no mistake, they did).

The Arizona speculation was quickly cleared up when the original source said he meant Angels Extended Spring Training in Arizona, not the D'Backs.

Teams that need OF help in the NL:

Braves
Marlins
Philly
Cubs
SF

Assuming you can eliminate ATL & Philly, leaving you with Miami, Chicago and SF.

OK, just interested in knowing is all. Further, I knew that about the Arizona speculation. It's just if you read that tweet I posted here on twitter, then you'll see most are speculating Arizona again. My guess is those fans just missed the follow-up correcting that report.

I am too. I'm surprised it hasn't leaked out yet.
