Around Baseball 2015 Edition

Giolito. Maybe flip Desmond for prospects in a 3 team deal. MLB gives the Nats over 20 million a year because **** the braves they might have to ask MLB to up their payments.

They give them 20 mil bc the Oreos owe them over 50 million per year and MLB doesnt want it to go to court and have everything on the table.

Trading Giolito for Tulo would be dumb though.

Kinda figured they'd keep mini Gio to replace Jordan Zimmerman once he bolts.

Probably AJ Cole for a year or 2 before Giolito and Lopez start knocking on door.

They want to talk to Rox over Tulo but I dont understand why they dont look at 2B with turner at SS and Rendon at 3B.

Like MLB said when they stole our TBS money and when they approved the longest term tv deal for pennies on the dollar "tough ****". MLB shouldn't be subsidizing a team with 160 million payroll.

By the end of this season it won't be a debate on who the best hitter in baseball is.

It takes more than one great season to be 'the best hitter in baseball'. It's still between Trout and Miggy until someone else is at that level or higher for consecutive years.

They wouldnt if the Orioles pay the Nats the money they owe them.

Poor nats, they have to settle on just getting more than the Braves get. How can anyone expect them to compete with only a small small financial advantage that only exists because Selig changed the rules so the braves lost 40+ million a year.

People usually don't realize a thing when it actually happens and wait till its already happened to say it's real. Just like when lebron was better than Kobe at 21. For some reason people just can't admit it.

There is nothing really to admit. Harper has a BB% twice as high as his career average and he has a 390 BABIP. He's currently on pace for one of the best seasons in baseball history. I highly doubt any of those are still true at seasons end. And I'm sorry if you expect me or most people to believe this is Harpers true talent level from here on out and not just a really insane hot streak from a talented player.

Harper was considered a once in a generation prospect and has only been held back because if nagging injuries. Just watching that guy hit is incredible. He not only has plate coverage but power plate coverage to go along with a great eye at the plate. He will slump like anyone in baseball history but I do think his true talent level is one of the greatest hitters of all time.

Good to see you back on Harpers dick.

As thewupk said, if he keeps this up he's the best hitter in baseball this year for sure. But he's got twice the BB rate of his career average, And 80% improvement in ISO and a 50 point spike in BABIP.

At least one if not 2 if not all of those things will fall. Obviously his power is legit so I expect that to take the least of the hit, and walk rate will have a spike with a power boost but not 100%, and I expect his BABIP to come crashing down to earth.

Justin Upton hit two homers today but the Padres lost again, they're one game under .500 same as us. I expect they'll lose the Justin Upton trade unless they make the playoffs and/or sign him long term. But even if one or both happen I could still see a win-win result in this particular trade given how well our side of the deal is looking so far. It will be interesting to see how Fried comes back because if he comes back strong it could be a big win for us no matter how it ends up for the Padres.

And that's fine if that's your opinion. But don't expect others to buy in until they see it happen.
