Average to slighly below average, depending on how this year shakes out....my main point was, he's not good enough to be the main cog in a trade for a top 10 player in baseball in Donaldson. Unless you consider a 18 year old SS who's 5 years away the main piece.

I haven't even discussed the trade. But, there is simply no way Lawrie is below average. He's an average hitter/plus defender/baserunner.
 
Wait Donaldson is top ten all of a sudden?

Harper, Goldy, Stanton, Trout, Adam Jones, McCutcheon, Cabrera, AGon, Tulo, Cruz are all better.

Just to name a few.

I would have done something like Gattis, Wood, CJ and other pieces, but idk if that would have got him.

All those players I listed have done great for longer than Donaldson has.

He's a good player. Great at the moment. Top ten...I say not.
