He did lean into it, by about a foot actually. Hell of a game for Scherzer, especially coming off a 1-hit performance his last time out. I hate the Nationals, but I love me some baseball history.

And what's wrong with bunting to break up a no-hitter? It's bush-league to expect the other team to hand you a no-hitter or perfect-game.

Second start of Scherzer's in a row I've watched; second time in a week I've been able to watch him lose a perfect-game late.

Not to mention, Tabata put together one of the better PAs of any Pirate all afternoon.

Guessing Jose Tabata is on the phone ordering full-body armor in preparation for his next plate appearance against the Nationals.

Def chicken **** when batters lean in with humongous pads on their elbows, but Scherzers fault he threw too far in. And the batters certainly shouldnt hand it to him.

Hes retired 54 of 57 batters. 18 IP, 1 H, 1BB, 1 HBP, 26 K. I would be interested to see how that stacks up in 2 game samples. The unique thing hes hes not racking up a ton of pitches to get the strikeouts.

Im not sure there is a choice if it is a ball. Obv a strike if he hangs over the plate.

I don't think I like the idea of opening up that can of worms. I don't trust umpires to get the balls/strikes correct, let alone judgement calls based on intent.

I think an easy solution is that batters can wear armor, but if they're hit by a pitch while wearing it, they aren't awarded first base.
