Around Baseball 2015 Edition

the defense definitely helps, but their pitching is always good. it was really good for years before Heyward started playing RF for them, and I bet anything they aren't gonna try too hard to re-sign him. there is a ton of talent in their rotation. they have clearly had a focus on developing pitching.

Even though Heyward's been their best player, he is trash and means nothing to them

Certainly they have seen how overrated he is and will make little or no effort to retain his services. I wonder which teams will be dumb enough to try to sign him.

I ask you this all the time: What is the point of this? Who said anything remotely similar? Why do you always go to hyperbole and straw men to try and make a point instead actually discussing what's being talked about?

and by the way Matt Carpenter has the highest fWAR on the team, and that factors in Heyward getting a lot for being a great defensive RFer.

ain't no way they'd consider giving him $25MM, I'd bet anything on that.

and the cardinals also clearly focus on offense more than pitching and defense, so we should go that route too so we can championships.

right, nsacpi?

i'm just pointing out how the cardinals hate pitching and their strategy of chasing hitters has worked. we should follow suit. i thought you'd agree with that.

i just know we won't ever win anything by focusing on pitching, we need all hitters and hopefully kris bryant comes to us like for the cubbies. they really have it right, and the cardinals who clearly hate pitching also have it right.

right nsacpi?

I wouldn't mind seeing what it would take to get Hank Conger from the Astros for catcher. High draft pick who has never really had a chance to start every day, but is an excellent defender and has shown some nice power.

Always liked that kid. He would be a good pickup if we choose to go another direction at C.

Because you unnecessarily brought Heyward into the discussion to take a (usual) shot at him. We all understand you hate him... You can let it go

I see him as a good argument for letting CB play and develop a little more.
