How is New Orleans never an option. We only have 1 professional team in all the major sports. I need an option for when the Braves eventually cave to the PC Police and we become the Atlanta Pink Dildos.

Didn’t New Orleans have an exhibition game in the late 70s or sometime around that time with the A’s? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Yeah, you never hear New Orleans talked about with MLB. Is it a case where the city isn’t big enough for teams in all the major sports leagues? Could be. They’ve done a great job in supporting the Saints and Pelicans support seems good. One thing with New Orleans and MLB is where would you build a ballpark? I was looking at a Google Maps imaging of New Orleans, just wasting time. The city limits of New Orleans looked crowded. I’m not sure where you’d build a ballpark. May have to build one in a suburb like Slidell or Kenner, if that chance happens.
I am a bit surprised a minor league team isn’t there. I know one moved a few years ago, but the way minor league teams get moved so often, you’d think one would look there. When MLB expands, it won’t surprise me if New Orleans get a AAA team for one of the franchises. I’m hoping Mobile, my hometown and home to five baseball hall of famers, gets another shot at a AA team in the future.
I didn't realize that New Orleans no longer has a AAA team. Baby Cakes is one of the greatest baseball team names ever.
Doesn't the NBA count as a major sports league? but It would seem you have two professional teams.
If I had to guess, I'd say Sale needs another couple good-but-not-great years -- I don't think he's quite passed the bus test yet. But the Cy is a huge feather in his cap, so is the fact that he has a ring (and it's helpful that there's highlight video of him closing out that World Series), and both the media and his fellow players really love him and talk about him like he's a Hall of Famer.
My only hesitation is that I don't how HOF voters are going to handle starting pitchers moving forward. If Sale closes really strong he might end his career with 2,500 innings pitched -- Maddux had 5,008 1/3 for his career. Are Hall voters going to adjust to the drastic changes in pitching usage by lowering their standards for counting stats, or are they going to hold starters to the old benchmarks and basically never elect another starting pitcher again?
