That's a lot of cheddar. What's funny is that we hear talk/speculation about the Braves not being able to afford two 20 million dollar players and the Dodgers are going to have two 30 million dollar players.

good for them.. and they still haven't won anything since 1988..

Dodgers have unlimited funds, we dont.

But yes, you're right.

The #Mets, #Nationals, #Dodgers, #SFGiants are all in mix for Zobrist. Andrew Friedman is a big Zobrist fan from Tampa days.

I'd pass. He'll sign for more than he's worth. He's already 27 and is more than likely a 2B who is average-at-best defensively with a pretty good OBP, little power, and little speed.

To those who just treat this all as a business, which it truly is and has been: Both the owners and the players are making crap loads of money, but a guy used to be able to go out to the ballpark, get a good ticket for $10 or $20 and have a beer and a hot dog for $3 apiece. I'm not trying not to sound like an old crank here, but if you can't get into the ballpark for less than $50 to $60 these days. If you want to take your family, you almost have to take out a second mortgage. Some of that's simple inflation, but prices for everything involved at the ballpark have greatly outpaced that. We can blame either or both sides of the equation, but that doesn't blunt the fact that fans are paying a lot more to get to the game.

Funny you mention that. I was just telling someone the other day about having to pause and back up when watching Field Of Dreams the other night. Costner and James Earl Jones at Fenway after the "kidnapping" when Roy asks "what do you want" and has to point out that they're standing in front of the hot dog stand. "Dog and a beer" and Roy holds up two fingers. The vendor hands them over and says "seven bucks".

SEVEN BUCKS FOR TWO HOT DOGS AND BEERS AT FENWAY.

*amn I'm old!!!

Add to the stats that Pelfrey is a bit of a rockhead. He's a tease though. Had a few outings for the Twins last year that made one remember why he was once so highly prized, but if he's getting $8MM per, I might bring out my glove and work on my eephus.
