I believe Alex was shut down in September 2014 for the same mild forearm issue. Hopefully a little rest does the trick

Once, maybe. Twice, it's time to prep the OR.

I don't disagree that it's an ominous sign, just cautioning that it's not necessarily a sign that a 2nd TJ is imminent this Spring.

Still, the concerns about the long-term viability of that left arm are real. I think there's at least a 50% chance that Alex is non-tendered before he reaches FA as a result of arm issues.

I didn't like the drop in MPH last year. He said it was going two-seam rather than four, but it didn't sound right then and now the bells are really going off.

FWIW, Dodgers say he should be fine and Wood called the soreness “extremely mild" according to MLBTR: "Dodgers lefty Alex Wood missed his scheduled start today after experiencing forearm tightness, as Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. As things stand, though, the team is “optimistic” that the current issue is a minor one, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports (Twitter links), and Wood himself says the soreness is “extremely mild.”

Ruben Tejada was put on waivers by the Mets today. I know a lot of people will be saying all Aybar to the Cards rumors are dead, but...why wouldn't we take a flyer on Tejada? Not prohibitively expensive at all, he's good defensively and meh offensively, and he'd be an heir apparent for when we trade Aybar. It's not like we're swimming in quality MIF depth; who would he be displacing, Gordon Beckham, Emilio Bonifacio?

I'd do it just to screw STL out of the chance to get him.

Tejada had a -15 DRS and -7.5 RngR in just 618 innings at short last year. That is actually pretty terrible defensively, but for his career has been OK for a back-up (-20 DRS overall for career at short, last year being his worst after his best year in '14). That said, Tejada is good defensively at second, nothing special but solid enough to start there if hitting.

Fangraphs Cameron is speculating that he'll clear waivers and become a free agent and sign with the Cardinals. See here: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/ruben-tejada-inevitable-cardinal/.

Hyun-jin Ryu won't pitch in spring training, and the Dodgers say a May debut is unrealistic

I know I have tooted this horn before.. but I think the Dodger$ did not address a big issue when they lost Zack.

they now have Anderson, McCarthy, Ryu out to start.. Kazmir getting shelled with loss of velocity.. and Wood with arm soreness..

They really should just throw Urias in and see what happens. Mainly because he's in a few of my NFBC draft champions leagues

Sorry to see that MFIKY has called it a career. By far, the greatest nickname ever to come out of this board or its predecessor.
