ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Padres have agreed to a multi-year contract extension with Jedd Gyorko.
ESPN's Keith Law says it's a six-year deal with a seventh-year option, and FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal pegs the total value at "more than $32 million." Gyorko wasn't going to be arbitration-eligible until after the 2015 campaign, so this extension buys out all three of his arbitration seasons and one year of free agency. The 25-year-old second baseman batted .249/.301/.444 with 23 home runs and 63 RBI in 125 games last summer as a rookie.
