Well it's just a step in the process of the NL getting the DH. It will happen. I wish we knew that it would happen within the next few years. It would make giving McCann a 4 or 5 year contract much easier.

2011 was the first year MLB used the DH regardless of which league hosted the game. Carlos Beltran was the DH for the NL at Arizona.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Cubs are asking teams for their "last and best offers" on right-hander Matt Garza.
In fact, teams believe that Garza will be traded before he throws another pitch for the Cubs. As of now, he's slated to make his next start on Monday against the Diamondbacks. Olney hears that the Rangers are in the middle of the trade talks, though teams like the Cardinals, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Pirates, Indians, and Dodgers are also reportedly in the mix

Looks like Garza to Texas. Wonder what they gave up. Garza has real good stuff, he's always been a little inconsistent and never really lived up to be the kind of guy I thought he'd be, but he's still very solid.
