FIP and xFIP at 3.30 and 3.17, very similar to his 2014 season.
At the same time we have to recognize that the FO has a yuge knowledge base that dwarfs anything that we fans work with.
I'm sure the folks that rushed to post about his rough starts earlier are eager to comment.

Man Woody would have been a really good lefty option in a rotation that looks like it's gonna be righty dominant unless Newcomb ever figures out how to pitch.
I think we got decent value considering LA took on a lot of Olivera's contract but he sucks so it's moot. Essentially just donated one of our top prospects and a good lefty for broken elbow and domestic violence.
2. Jay Bruce, OF, Reds — Bruce remains a target for a few teams looking for a lefthanded bat, including the Royals. Bruce also makes sense in Anaheim. Teams such as the Royals and Phillies are also looking at Atlanta’s Nick Markakis, though the money is an issue there, especially with the Royals.
Phils and Royals looking at Markakis, though both would want the Braves to send $ too.

We better get the next Trout with the draft pick.
We have to make the pitch to the Reds that Neck could double, triple, maybe even quadruple his homerun total in a batters box like Cincy.

That's not shocking for Wood. We have seen it before. He has also really struggled before. I don't think he is this good obviously, nor is he Cole Hamels. Middling lefty starter ? Probably
Mike Carp, Tim Salmon, and Mike Trout are all once in a lifetime players.
