That's a terrible deal in my opinion. No way in hell do I want to trade our good players in 1 for 1 deals. Much like the deal for Olivera, if that one prospect busts we lose big time. There is no way I will ever be okay with trading our ace for one prospect. When we try to trade with other teams they want 3-4 of our top prospects for their players, why should we be trading multiple proven stars for two prospects. Then we would have to add more? If that's how things work let's trade Albies for an all star, but they better throw in another prospect to make their all star even in value with our prospect.
 
Sale hasn't seemed happy with their ownership since the LaRoache issue this spring....

Would never happen but would you do Teheran, Newcomb, and Blair for Sale?

No cuz Teheran isnt as good as Sale sure, but Newcomb and Blair on top of it meh.
 
Not commenting about whether the Braves should trade JT or not. Just noting that this has major implications for his value if it actually happens.

One less suitor that makes a lot of sense and has the young players to get it done.... and one less pitcher on the market.

If the Astro's get Sale, then who panics and ups their offer for Julio?

With his arm motion and his ridiculous skinny frame, I worry about a significant injury for Sale... so no, probably not.

Only like 3 teams have systems to get him.

Cubs/Astros/RedSox

Dodgers top ones are mostly pitchers.

Ha, when I saw this Cotillo tweet I was thinking it may as well have been this: "Source: [INSERT NAME OF ANY TEAM] would have interest in making a run at Chris Sale, depending on ask price. Unclear if talks have occurred."
 
AJC: #Braves have been interested in Chris Sale for several years, and yes, there have been at least preliminary discussions.
 
O'Brien says the Braves have been interested in Sale for several years... and that at least preliminary talks have occurred. Worried about his injury potential, but no doubt he's a special pitcher... just don't want to give up all of our young talent we've accumulated. I would start with Newcomb, but I think they'd want some offensive players.... and we can't do it if we give up Albies or Swanson... I'd think about adding a Riley, Davidson, Peterson, Ruiz, Acuna... I just don't see how we match up with them because we just don't have offensive prospects the caliber they are looking for outside of Albies and Swanson.
 
Lucroy keeps on doing his thing. Milwaukee would be foolish not to trade him if an extension isn't possible.
 
Can't remember a more overrated pitcher for his contract than David Price. Dude is a crook getting away with theft.
