Markakis has more votes than Harper. And Kemp would be the other starting outfielder!
If Dansby somehow came in first we could have five Braves from last year’s putrid offense starting the all star game.
Baseball is funny

The Nats pulled the early move because they are scared. Yes...great move, but it also speaks of desperation.
Remember....AA has hinted that we may not be able to add much payroll this year. He may not have much flexibility. No one thought we would be this good, so I’m sure he wasn’t too worried about having payroll maxed out this year.
Well if we add moose, familia, or even machado, wouldn't their team want to pay the salary to maximize return?
I cannot blame AA if there isn't room for the 4.4 million left on his contract.
Could have asked KC to eat it and offer a better prospect package.
For that kinda package, pretty dissapointed AA didnt get Herrera from KC. Would have really solidified the bullpen.
Actually might be more about money.
Actually more reason for hope and confidence IMO.
If AA's not convinced any acquisitions - particularly rentals - will push this team over the top, don't simply "give away" assets. Don't get into a bidding war for guys like Herrera and Machado if you're not convinced they make you legitimate threats to Houston, the Yankees, or Boston - who gives a *hit about beating Washington in the NL East this year if you have to gut your system? Adding Herrera alone wouldn't have caused the Astros, Yankees, or Sox to lose a minute's sleep - and I'm not convinced adding Machado makes them scared of us either (although it would come much closer).
Trading for someone who's going to walk away this winter to give you a little better shot at winning the NL in 2018 is pretty pointless. If you can get a rental for next to nothing, that's fine - just don't go giving up Top 10-15 (and maybe even Top 20) prospects if you're not getting someone back that can help you in 2019 and later.
Sit back and enjoy the ride the present team has taken us on so far and see how much further it goes. Go fill holes with all that money this winter.

It could very well be that the Braves couldn’t afford the $4M owed to Herrera.
Another wildcard in trades with teams like KC and the Os is that they live in the 90s and quite possibly valued the guys from the Nats much higher than everyone else. Maybe AA did offer a package of similar value, and KC simply preferred the Nats’ players.
Probably a combination of several reasons. I expect AA to make 1-2 additions that represent good value, so I’m not too upset at missing on this BP arm.
Actually more reason for hope and confidence IMO.

Giving up a couple FV 40s in their early 20s and a random 17 year old arm is gutting the farm?
Folks are getting a little too greedy with prospects around here lol.
Actually more reason for hope and confidence IMO.

Seems like a solid haul.
Stop based on this we should get moose for Sims.
Evan Phillips makes us better and he is free
Mous and familia

Why Mous? He doesn't add anything? It's making a deal just to make a deal
