It's OVER 5,000!
Blue Jays get Girchik (sp?) from Cardinals
Good trade for them, he is still only 26 and they only gave up a reliever and what looks like a likely bust of a prospect.

I've always liked Grichuk, but it seems some of the guys here who like him don't like Adam Duvall and their offensive games are really similar. I like Grichuk better because he can play some CF. Still and all, looks like a good deal for the Jays.
I like Grichuk for that price as they gave up really only a bullpen arm that has been good some years and bad almost every other year. The prospect included looks like a bust. So Toronto did great in that trade IMO. Further, I like Adam Duvall better than Grichuk as a hitter and I also like Duvall's defense in LF too. If we can get Duvall for that little or not much more then you do it!
Not a fan of Grichuk. But Jays gave up very little to get him, so not a bad deal obviously, but I'd be very underwhelmed if we acquired Grichuk, even for free.
Relatively sure I was the first on Duvall, but was told he wasn't worth talking about. Have no clue what it would take to get the Reds to move him, but if you can add a 30 HR bat for that price that doesn't kill you defensively you should obviously pass.

Price tags for Granderson and Howie Kendrick came in surprisingly low. It suggests we could round out the roster with a couple guys like Brandon Phillips and Seth Smith for a total of around 6 mil.
Yeah, the Braves should add a 1-2 win LFer just because he can hit 30 HRs.
Welcome back to the 90s everyone! Derrrrp!
Duvall put up a 2.9 war in 2016 and 1.8 last year. He is strong on defense in LF to go along with his power and RBI numbers. He also has put up an OPS between .782-.795 (just under .800 IOW) the last three years. That isn't bad when you factor in his strong defense in LF, despite a lot of strikeouts and a lower OBP than you'd want.
I find it interesting most Todd Frazier fans on this board are so against Duvall. Frazier prior to this past season had back-to-back OBP seasons of .302 and .309 and he had similar and lower OBP seasons in the past with the Reds.
Did you really just compare Duvall to Todd Frazier as if they are nearly equal players?
It seems you cannot argue with my OBP points so you're being a smart ass. Duvall is cheap and won't cost an expensive deal like Frazier. A three year deal for Frazier could easily blow up in our face if he declines. But picking up Duvall if he can be had cheap won't as he's not even making millions yet. I am only interested in Duvall if the Reds will trade him for cheap similar to the Toronto trade.
I ignored your OBP “point” because it is nonsense.

That Frazier's recent .302 and .309 OBP seasons are similar OBP numbers as Duvall's .301 is not nonsense. It is simply a fact.
That 2.9 WAR was due to a pretty high defensive ranking. Could he be that good again? I'm not sure. Hard to say with only two years of data.
Offensively he's a league average hitter with plus power and low obp. Overall that's fine if you value him accordingly.
I wouldn't want to give up what the Reds are likely asking for.
Frazier may have some similarities to Duvall but Frazier is quite a bit better all the way around.
Just looking at OBP is not looking at the overall picture.
