Around the League 2020 Edition

I saw a fantasy snippet that Will Smith has been cleared to throw off a mound. WTF? Why couldn't he throw off a mound for the last two weeks if he was asymptomatic?

MLB and MLBPA are discussing shortening double headers this season. Either 9 innings for the first game and 7 for the second or 7 innings for both games.

Next thing you know they will just call the second game in favor of whichever team lost the first game.

Phillies blue jays series postponed. Phillies coach and clubhouse guy tested positive for covid

All the more reason to keep trying to win all the games Soroka and Fried pitch and try to patch the rest of the rotation together without making any trades.

The season is hanging by a thread and could be cancelled at any time. If they're still playing in a month maybe you get a handful of starts from Hamels.

Thanks.

The Braves lineup today is one I can get behind: Acuna CF, Albies 2B, Freeman 1B, Ozuna DH, Duvall RF, Swanson SS, Camargo 3B, Riley LF, Flowers C.

Also, Folty cleared waivers and will stay with Atlanta.

Ruh Roh. That will create a really great work environment.

Two third basemen? Bold strategy.

Strange development.

Not really. I figured this is what they were planning on. They don’t have time to wait around for him to work himself out in the big leagues, but he can work as much as he needs to in Gwinnett. And if he finds his stuff again, you get a big addition without making a trade.

It’s just like last year, except last year he had options.
