Around the League 2020 Edition

You had to know players would get the virus. Otherwise, you shouldn't have started up outside of a bubble.

Put the fires out where and when you find them.

It's not hard.

So far, so good. Marlins will be back in action soon.

Bump.

Manfred latest quote really reaffirms that we're nowhere close to quitting.

Some of y'all don't quite get it.

Marlins and Os starting a series Tuesday, btw.

I hope Manfred and MLB realize that, unless every team that qualifies has already had an outbreak by that point, the postseason is going to have to be played in a bubble.

Mets traded for Billy Hamilton, traded Jordan Humphreys their 14th ranked prospects but he was DFA'd.

So, reports are that the Mets were benching Cespedes to keep him from reaching playing time bonuses in his contract before he disappeared on them today.

Yeah I saw that. That team is just a dumpster fire. I still can’t believe they have the ex agent of a bunch of their players (degrom, Thor, cespedes) as their GM, yet players still hate playing there.
He got paid about $600k for the 9 games he played in this season so far. Pretty nice payday. Now he can go hunt some boar.

Well, they were doing an awfully poor job of it considering he had started every game but one for them this season.

No one wants to play there? Explain this then:

Well, I was a bit unclear in my wording. The reports state they were about to bench him a bunch to avoid paying him some money, and he had had a couple of arguments with them about it, then disappeared. Your guess is as good as mine regarding how much truth is in there.

The Athletic article doesn't mention those reports, but it does say the night before he sought out some teammates to say goodbye, and no one told management.

it would make him disappearing more understandable, if true.
but really we have no idea.
