Anibal Sanchez expected to sign with a MLB team this week. Braves are one of 3 NL teams in on him.

From MLBTR

The Braves, Nationals and Marlins have all looked into Sanchez, whose last bullpen session was truncated by a laceration on his middle finger that ought to have healed up by now. There’s interest from a couple of AL clubs as well, per Rosenthal.

Im guessing the AL team interested in him is the Tigers

Because the Mets bats hate him.

Since 2018, Jacob deGrom has pitched to a 1.99 ERA over 81 starts and 524 IP; the Mets are 38-43 in those games.

And it's not like he isn't going deep in those games either. He's averaging 6 over 1/3 innings per start.

Dustin May has UCL damage and the Dodgers expect to make a treatment announcement in the next 24 hours. Knowing the Dodgers, I guess this means they are trading for deGrom?

I forgot about him. One of the many prospects of the Phillies rebuild that didn’t pan out.

i mean, sorta? he had a few good years for them. he was a rule 5 guy IIRC. he was never billed as like a cornerstone and they didn’t trade anything for him.

from 2015 to 2017 he put up 3.8, 3.7, and 2.9 fWAR. then he fell off a cliff.

I believe he was involved in a domestic abuse case and the Phillies suspended him. I'm actually surprised to see him back after that (if I am thinking about the right guy). I thought he was in the baseball graveyard.

He has had some good seasons. When he first came up, I think a lot of Phils' fans (and baseball observers) thought he was going to be a really dynamic player, but his walk rate plummeted even though his power numbers went up some.

yup, correct on point #1. i think that was before the 2019 season. he had kind of already fallen off considerably by that point. i too am surprised he’s still in their org. he’s not very good AND has that DV attached to him now.
