La Russa says he did not have a problem with the Twins throwing at his player. I can’t imagine his players like him and I don’t blame them if they didn’t.
I’m just amazed that dude could time a 47 MPH pitch and hit it out. Seems like the Twins should just respect that instead of getting all unwritten rulesy about it. You suck enough to have to have a position player pitch multiple innings this season and you’re throwing at a guy because he showed you up? You showed yourself up. Maybe don’t suck so much.

I'm hopeful the Braves are never in this situation because I feel Snit would do the same thing LaRussa would do.
I remember Fredi throwing a couple of guys under the bus (Alex Wood for one I seem to remember) and I do wonder if Snitker would do the same. I'm inclined to think not, but who knows.
It's just really ironic for me living up here in Minnesota that the Twins of all teams would make a big deal out of this. Chippy, chirpy team that thought Josh Donaldson was totally in the right last year after showing up a rookie ump.
There’s just no consistency to these unwritten rules, which makes them even dumber. Some people (Bobby Cox being one) think having a position player pitch is disrespectful to the game. It all seems to be up to interpretation, which is not a good prerequisite for throwing at someone with a baseball. It’s whatever offends or benefits you. Basically, it all boils down to being a sore loser. Every time.

Why would that organization spend the last half decade building a young exciting team, and then hire a dusty dinosaur to manage it?
