Is Morton a victim of a substance? He went to Houston and turned into a different guy. Then this year with all the substance talk we’ve seen his numbers slide.
Kolby allard is pitching well.

he has. Still think he's a guy that needed to go somewhere else to be better. Needed especially to go somewhere to let him work through mistakes.
If we didn't trade him I bet he was going to be off the 40 man.
Another victim of the "rush them to the bigs" approach that the Braves have practiced over the past few years. He clearly wasn't ready when he first came up. Contrast that with Anderson, who they didn't rush and looked ready from Day 1 in the majors.
That aside, I have no problems with the Allard-for-Martin trade. It was a classic now-for-later deal and given where Allard was at, there were (and, in truth, probably still are) questions about what the later will end up being.
Can we really say they didn't rush Anderson though? He only had pitched 5 games above AA, and in reality was only called up because we had nobody else last year.
Allard did some up to Atlanta for 3 games during his age 20 season, but overall he did start 39 games for the team in AAA. I believe with Allard the issue with the stuff was just not as advertised when he was drafted.
Maybe we don’t develop pitchers like a pitching factory should.
Baseball gods laugh at DeGrom and have him walk the pitcher. Payback for opposing pitchers having about a 1.000 OPS against us.
Why don’t y’all try posting in the proper thread, god dammit.
Maybe we don’t develop pitchers like a pitching factory should.
Fried, Soroka, and Anderson not enough for you? Possibly Ynoa as well. Newk is probably a very good reliever going forward. A plethora of other pitching prospects that could still pan out too.
Newcomb is trash.
But, I agree with you. I’ve made this argument before. The Braves perceived inability to develop pitching is greatly overstated.
