Around The Majors 2019

Nah we're fine IMO. The front has already passed thru and it's sunny now. If it had been a 1pm game we would've had a nice rain delay, but field should be fine tonight unless we get a pop-up storm

Looking at standings and RD, here's some oddities...

The only team with a negative RD in the nl central is Milwaukee, and the brewers are in 1st place.

The one team with a negative RD in the al west is Texas at -3, and they're a .500 team. Surely that division falls off.

The only nl west team with a positive RD is LA, and the dodgers lead the nl in RD, yet they're in 2nd place in the west

Now from Kinbrel

6:11pm: Kimbrel is seeking a contract in the range of the deals the Rockies’ Wade Davis (three years, $52MM) and the Yankees’ Zack Britton (three years, $39MM) received over the previous couple offseasons, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports on Twitter. Those look like reasonable asking prices for Kimbrel, yet there’s no indication he’s close to signing anywhere.

I think the years will be the challenge for Kimbrel to net. I can see an AAV as high as Davis', but I don't see anyone giving him three years. I can see two and an option.

that chris archer trade is looking disastrous for pittsburgh. meadows and glasnow have been monsters. glad to see them both regain their forms.

this is a trade AA *didn't* make that looks as good as the made on for Gausman.

Archer has been awesome so far this year but it was still a brilliant trade by tampa. What a fantastic organization.

I still don't quite understand the thought process in Pittsburgh on the Archer trade.

I guess I can see why they would have been willing to move Glasnow and Meadows, but it was selling low on two recent premium prospects. Not sure why they felt they were a contender or why that was the season to sell assets to go for it.

they also gave up the other kid, shane baz. it was kinda dumb all-around.
i'm glad a different GM got suckered into paying too much for Archer. i was on board to acquire him, but once i saw that cost...whew.

Franco just tied it, 2-run HR.

Philly can hit, but i dont know if their pitching can hold up over 162.

Was a very out of character trade for the Buccos. They kept executing their plan in a very disciplined fashion then did something stupid.
