Around The Majors 2019

So the mets honored the 69 team this weekend. They had a video memorial of the players who have passed away but included two players that are still alive. Lol mets.

I saw that, and the article I read goes on to say that one of those players also did not get an invitation to the celebration. Well of course not! They thought he was dead.

There are 6 teams within 3 games of the 2nd NL Wild card.

7 if you include the Reds who are only 5 back of Philly/Colorado for the 2nd Wild Card.

The trade deadline is going to be interesting if we're still 4-5 teams in the hunt for that 2nd wild card spot.

The Reds are really interesting. The numbers say they should have won a lot more games then they have. They could be a big second half mover

Boston to use Eovaldi to close when he comes back. Probably where he should've been in the first place.

According to MLBTR Inciarte is in rehab games beginning yesterday.

Injured Braves outfielder Ender Inciarte is officially on the path back to the majors. He launched a rehab assignment today, per a club announcement.

Inciarte will start things off with the club’s High-A affiliate. The Braves will surely exercise some caution in ramping him up. Back injuries can linger, as has already occurred in this particular case.

I think it's safe to say he's clueless, unless he's saying that's what the Giants want.

That's what I said on Twitter. I wonder if the Giants' asking price is even higher than any of us thought. I mean, shoot for the moon, right? That farm sucks so a large haul at least moves them up lol

Astros have DFAed A.J. Reed. I remember when this kid was a stud prospect a few years ago and I was pushing for us to get him during our rebuild. Blinded by my man crush

Dude has not panned out since going to the big leagues.

.150/.253/.244 with 50k in 150 MLB at bats

Only hitting .224/.239/.469 in AAA this season

I would take a flier on him for organizational depth and call up in September if he produces.

Astros have a week to trade him or attempt to pass him through waivers

Giants have every reason to ask for a high price and no reason to come down until closer to the deadline. Some GMs dont care about 5 years from now, they just want to keep their job so someone might do something stupid.
