Lmao. Jesus Christ, this guy…
This is really genuine. It’s a tragedy he’s not in Atlanta. Shame on him, shame on the Braves for not extending him sooner, and special shame for that ghouls Casey Close for orchestrating this.

Everyone made the best out of this but the Braves and Freddie both lost.

AA did the same thing.

I don't know how much of a problem it would have been for AA to call FF during a negotiation. Is that allowed? I'm sure FF can call AA. If this happened b/c both guys were too proud to talk to one another that is stupid.

But one of the reasons you pay an agent is to do this work for you. To protect you from getting upset about offers, etc. Agents are supposed to be buffers. But if FF told them, whatever you do, make sure I'm a Brave. He'd be a Brave. He likely would never had gotten to free agency. Chipper basically told us that. Chipper was the prototype.

It's ok to make a decision and wish you had done it differently. At some point he has to own that he's the reason he's not in ATL. Being in ATL wasn't his number 1 priority and he earned the right to make those adult decisions.

Freeman today

I don't think I've ever seen anything like that media session before. All Freddie had to do was clear the air in those 48 hours, and he could still be a Brave.

Braves tried to extend him before last season.

Shame on Freddie.

we could have had Pache patrolling center and guiding us in center and used Harris as possible trade piece

This is BS!!! The Braves could've made this happen with a simple phone call directly between GM and player. The player didn't expect the team to move on, but I think the team could've went that extra mile if they had wanted too. I wonder if Acuna or Albies be given the extra mile Freddie was not. I wonder how Freddie's current team feels?

That is it in a nutshell. There was a strangeness to this like maybe the agent didn't keep an open line between the two sides.

If that were true and Freddie really wanted to stay then the agent should be fired. The agent hasn’t been fired. Tells me everything I need to know. Freddie didn’t really want it that bad. But we know you don’t really care about the Braves so move along.

Then he shouldn’t have ****ed around.

I had feared that he was intentionally orchestrating his exit from the Braves to get to the Dodgers without saying it publically, but why act as he has if that were the case? Glavine didn't choke up, Murphy didn't choke up in 1991 every time he was asked a question.
