Around the Majors - 2022 Version

Can we please somehow trade for Ian Happ? I don't know if his extreme reduction in K-rate is real but man he would solve a lot of problems as is. BABIP is right in line with career norms.

I absolutely hate Duvall and Ozuna, but do you think the org is ready to give up on them this soon.. especially with Rosey coming back as a platoon.

I mean, I would love to get rid of any one/all of those 3 if at all possible.

Have wanted to trade for Happ for some time now - got screamed at before last season when I thought offering Waters and spare arms for him would be a good idea.

Would make for a rather crowded OF when Rosario returns, but Heredia could be sent down (without being DFAd) to create space IF Snitker could somehow learn to rotate all his options without leaving someone out completely for a week or 10 days. Happ's certainly not as good defensively in CF as Heredia, but that shouldn't matter as long as you played him there flanked by Duvall and Acuna on days you give Harris a breather.

Freddie should have manned up and made sure it happened.

For those questioning Freddie’s sincerity, here you go.

No one wins. Maybe not even LAD now that this is going to hang over like a storm cloud. The first sign of performance decline, the media/fans are going to descend on Freddie.

Awful situation which should have ended with FF signing with the Braves for 5 years 140 million.

Never had to come to this. I don't even care about the prospects and I think that Olson is a good player. I just wanted Freeman to come back especially if it wasn't for a monster contract. Awful Awful

He should have done this long ago. Weird he did this after this past weekend.

still, his agent does what they’re told by Freddie. I still find it hard to believe the agent gave a counter take it or leave it offer to AA without Freddie’s knowledge. He can’t be that oblivious to the situation.

also, changing representation now is kind of pointless. His contract will run through the age of 40, basically the end of his career. He’s signed his last big deal.

He is about to negotiate a buy-out and then come to Braves for 5M per....

5/140 would have been preferable to what AA ended up doing, that's for sure.

Having said that, I think AA navigated the tough situation almost perfectly.

Although I'd trade the 2 in a heartbeat, I agree that AA made the correct move. Hindsight now, but at the time, AA couldn't end up hoping he got Rizzo
