Around the Majors - 2022 Version

The Ruff for JD Davis trade hasn't worked out like the Mets thought it would

Really setting up for a typical fail for the Mets in late season ball.

If Max is healthy I still think they are the most dangerous team in the NL outside the Braves.

It's pretty hilarious. It's a strong narrative from a lot of Mets fans right now. But I honestly don't consider it one even if the Braves do pass them. Mets are having their best season in decades and are pacing to be a 100+ win team. The Braves are just really damn good themselves.

Without Acuna (mostly) as well.....

They won’t collapse to miss the playoffs. But if they fall out of division lead to the point that even that last series doesn’t matter. Especially with that powder puff schedule. Then that is by Mets standards a collapse. There is no reason why they shouldn’t win 70% of their games versus these horrible teams.

Every team should play on Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. The Braves are off next Labor Day, too.

Braves, Marlins, Phillies, and Athletics are off today.

If scheduling was an issue, they could've had Atlanta play in Oakland tonight, take Tuesday off, and play a day game Wednesday before going to Seattle.

Given the Braves annual torture going to the west coast, I don’t mind the extra day to let the boys get acclimated.

Labor Day has never been as big a deal for MLB as Memorial Day and the 4th. Major League Baseball is not terribly interested in acknowledging a celebration of organized labor.

That won’t happen. They’ll be fine. If the Mets don’t win the division, it will be because the Braves continued the trend since June of basically not losing.

Like I’ve said before, if either team wins 100 games and fails to win the division, then they should just tip their cap.

Man that’s a good feeling. Went up in the Montana mountains to camp on Saturday for 2 nights, no cell service. Come off the mountain to one game back! LFG

I'd still favor the Mets, they have a much, much more favorable schedule than we do. I wouldnt even consider it a collapse if we did pass them and won the division. Their next 4 series are home/home with the Pirates, at the Marlins and home with the Cubs. I guess you could consider it a small one given how easy their schedule is, obviously cant win every game but no reason for them not to pad wins these next 2 weeks.

The gNats are the worse team in the league. Anything can happen.
