Around the Majors - 2022 Version

Aaron Nola is really the only guy. If you look at the list of Philly all stars, the only guys that have been home grown are Herrera (lol) and Dominic Brown (who was good for about 200 at bats). Stott and Bohm look like the latest crop of busts.

There isn’t another team that’s this inept at drafting and developing.

It was today that I realized that Rhys Hoskins has never been an All-Star.

They're pretty much screwed because they are stuck in this perpetual middle ground between not being good enough to contend, and being too good to rebuild (mostly thanks to their payroll). Their farm system is among the worst in the league. If they did want to rebuild (which I don't think ownership has an appetite for), it would most likely be a lengthy one.
I think they have a core of stars that would instantly rebuild their farm system. Nola and Wheeler would bring back a haul. Harper is still young and incredible and could really bring back an enormous prospect pile if they ate some money.

But they won’t. They’ll continue to trade for backend starters and middle relief pitchers that don’t move the needle.

You're definitely right about that. But the other issue is that they haven't shown any ability to consistently develop their minor leaguers into valuable major league pieces.

I wonder if we look to trade d'Arnaud this offseason. Obviously that assumes Contreras continues to hit and the team is comfortable with his progress behind the plate, but if the bat is as legit as it's looked then you can't go another year without it in the lineup every day.

Who in the eff is Kramer Robertson? Claimed off waivers from the Cards with Rosario shifted to the 60-Day IL.

We now have 48 million infielders in Gwinnett. LOL.

You not an sec baseball fan, eh? He was a pretty good SS for lsu, and his mother is LSU's (previously baylor's) women's basketball coach.

During the CWS his last season, espn drove everyone crazy by pointing out who his mother is every 10 mins
