Lost in all the other news the Oakland pitching staff has been generating is that Eric O'Flahertye has completed his journey back from TJ surgery, throwing a scoreless inning this weekend in his first outing for the A's.

It's hard to really put a handle on how valuable EOF was for the Braves, but the numbers come close.

In parts of five seasons, he pitched in 295 games for the Braves, all as a set up man (no saves). He had a 13-7 record, a 1.99 ERA and a reputation that allowed him to earn a two-year deal from the A"s despite needing TJ surgery this past winter.

In 2011, he made his reputation with 78 games and a 0.98 ERA for the season. Combined with their starting staff, you don't think Oakland isn't the team to beat?

Kimbrel, Venters, and EOF might have had the greatest single season by a relief trio ever in 2011. I'm really glad to see him back, and am really hoping Venters can make his comeback this year. If so....dat bullpen.

Having two of the three-headed monster is still really good.

As much as I love Venters, I've always had a soft sport for EOF. The guy had it. He was exactly what any bullpen needed and he was just a good guy. I'll having him around for the 7th.

Venters had better stuff when he first came up but his dominance didn't last as long. I hate that EOF is back and not a Brave.

If Venters still has a hard sinker our bullpen is going to again win us a bunch of games.

Good for EOF. Hoping he can come back as good as ever. I'm really liking what Oakland has done and is doing. Tons of under the radar moves minus the blockbuster that just happened and they have just kept winning a lot of games similar to what the Braves have done. If Atlanta can't win it all I would love to see them do it.

Same.
