Riley does seem like the type that could make a non linear jump in BB rate. He’s probably maxing out his current offensive profile right now, but a 5% jump in walk rate really changes his outlook from a nice piece to perennial all star. That’s hard step to make though.
The easiest path to becoming that player is probably just cleaning up his approach against LHP which he’s surprisingly been pretty terrible against this year even relative to the last two years.
