Since we're in the final part of the season. Why not look where things shake out?

AL MVP - I mean short of Judge ****ting the bed he's going to smoke AL MVP. The gap between him and number 2 is massive. Shohei gets a heck of a nod as a 2 way player, but I mean it's still a big gulf.

NL MVP - Goldschmidt is probably the current favorite. But Arenado is right there. Betts, Machado, and Dansby are all very dark horse candidates who could wind up in the mix. NL has some room for debate.

AL Cy Young - Verlander is probably the current favorite. But there's lots of options. Shohei, Cease, Bieber, McClanahan, lots of choices. Verlander's to lose though.

NL Cy Young - Fried, Urias, and Alcantara are probably the leaders. Wright will get votes. Nola gets votes. Lots of open space. I would say Urias probably is the current favorite.

AL ROY - I would guess Julio Rodriguez. Strong finales could sneak others in but I can't really see another contestant other than maybe Rutschman or Kirby but I think there's too big of a gap.

NL ROY - It's coming to Atlanta. Strider and Harris are far over everyone else in the NL. Anyone who votes for anyone else is a moron.

AL MOY - I dunno, it's usually to whoever wins the most games or does something shocking, so odds are it's Dusty Baker. Servais could get a nod, given how miserable they've been in the second half of the season I can't imagine Boone being in the running.

NL MOY - Snit has to be a leader. I would assume it's between Snit and Roberts. Showalter could snag it if they win the division but if they dont' he doesn't really have a shot.

I don't see Urias being the favorite at all... Sandy is easily #1 at the moment. Fried has also been quite a bit better than Urias.

Putting Swanson on the list above Riley is ridiculous.

Riley is second right now in the NL MVP race

You can't put Riley ahead of either Goldy or Arenado.

They are both on a contender and Arenado has been a ton better than Riley overall (6.9 fWAR Arenado vs. 5.4 Riley) - It could even be argued Lindor has been more valuable than Riley with a 5.5 fWAR.
Goldy is the answer though at 7.0 fWAR and all the appropriate counting stats.

I think if you take your Braves colored glasses off, Riley is more likely in the 3 to 5 range.

Betts and Machado have also both been better than Riley but the Padres have been a huge disappointment and Betts is just another star on a star studded team. I don't know if he's been the valuable "key" for the Dodger.

You say Betts won’t get consideration bc of the other stars on the Dodgers but say 2 Cardinals are 1 and 2. Nobody has rose colored glasses on. Riley is top 3 imo and in most peoples eyes.

Betts is like 1 of 6 stars though... the Cards have 2... Arenado has been far and away a ton better than Riley. And has been better than anyone not named Goldschmidt

I can see Riley getting 3rd, but I think 4/5 is more likely. And I do think it is Braves colored glasses... fans are the only people I see still saying Riley is a top 2 and most national figures are keeping him out of the top 3. He was up there when he was on fire, but the MVP talk really cooled down when he started struggling. He's getting hot again, but I think its too late.

Brandon Hyde and Scott Servais likely deserve far more consideration than Baker or Boone. No one - and I mean NO ONE - thought the Orioles or Mariners would be where they are when this season started (and possibly didn't even think so at the All-Star break). Francona probably deserves to be in the discussion as well.
