Roster move (2/2): #Braves have selected the contract of RHP David Carpenter from the @GwinnettBraves.

Not concerned yet. Especially since this may just be a way to keep his innings down. We knew he'd be shut down at some point this year, so we'll wait and see if this is anything serious.

I'd hope this is an innings tactic but I think he's already started his option so you would assume they'd just send him down.

TJ is always diagnosed as elbow inflammation or a tight forearm about 1-2 weeks before they decide to have surgery. Someone had to be the first recently acquired pitching prospect to blow his elbow. Guess it was ManBan.

Let me be the first to say, I think Manny is a reliever long term. We have way too many starters next year with a clear need for a good lefty reliever. Not saying he cant make it as a starter, just that I think its going to happen and he will have enough success there that they dont try putting him back into the rotation.

I think he is a reliever long-term too. But I am in favor of all of these guys being given every opportunity to develop as starters.

Btw we do not have a surplus of starters. Most teams give 8 starters at least 10 starts in any given season. I want eight to start every season. Stash one or two in the pen and one or two in AAA. We do not have 8 major league ready starters going into 2016. Unless you count guys like Jenkins. Who imo has not really proven himself in AA or AAA. He did have a very nice start last night. If he does more of that the rest of this year, I'll be happy to add him to the list of major league ready starters for 2016.

I agree that Banuelos is likely a reliever long-term. And I just don't think this is a big deal until it is. If you asked me which of our pitchers I would be least surprised about shutting down with an 'injury,' it would be Banuelos. So let's just wait and see before we overreact.

The #Braves gained some concern for Banuelos when they saw some FBs that registered 86 & 87 mph during Friday's start in St. Louis.

I dunno, man. It's almost like they don't want to win.

Yeah. I think they have to weigh carefully how Baby Harang might affect the drive for a protected pick. There are quite a few bad teams out there. The competition is stiff. It is important not to take any games from the Orioles. By losing to them we win twice.

This could be a blessing in disguise.I for one think Folty needs all the big league innings he can get so we can see what we have.Imo it would be best to shut down Manny until the spring and have all our young arms healthy and ready to go

I hope Folty watched Smolzies hof speech and took to heart how much he struggled early in his career.Im a firm believer that letting a young pitcher take his lumps and learn on the job is far better then sending them back to the minors after a handful of starts esp when your not in a pennant race. Its why I also wish they would bring up Peraza and let him play.No reason to not use this lost season as a proving ground for the young ones
