BA's Midseason Top 50 Prospects

I suppose the possibility also exists (as far-fetched as it must seem to someone like you) that his progress would be faster in an alternative universe in which Wren remained as GM.

But I strongly suspect that his progress would have been about the same regardless of who was in charge.

Didn't you hear that Wren was trying to get Albies to bulk up and develop his Raw Power®?

He even re-hired Larry Parish to help him with his on-base skills.

There was a serious shortage of pitching prospects at the lower levels. But yeah the narrative about what happened to the farm system under Wren has been overstated by many.

In addition to Peraza and Albies, some notable holdovers include: Davidson, Baby Harang, Janas, Castro and Povse. And we should not forget recent graduates such as Teheran, Wood, Simmons and Gattis.

Perez was signed before Wren completely eradicated the scouting network that took decades to build. Same could be said maybe about Peraza. He deserves credit for Albies and Davidson for sure.

Wren and his staff were rightly criticized for their work in the draft.

But does he get credit for our only 2 top 50 hitting prospects? I mean, how many other teams can say they have 2 top 50 hitting prospects? And make it 3, if we count Braxton.

Well done Wren :eusa_clap::eusa_clap::eusa_clap::eusa_clap:

It's fun that you only post after Brave losses or to discuss our old GM.

That's mighty generous of you about Albies and Davidson. In Davidson's case the possibility exists that Hart forced Wren to draft him. No? And surely his progress would be slower if Wren had remained in charge.

My schedule's been crazy. Was in Atlanta 3 weeks ago, Atlanta again 2 weeks ago, San Diego last week, and Atlanta again today and this week.

I'll try to post more for your standards though

Let's see if Wren and his cronies get another opportunity. If he was as great as some describe on this board than surely he will be in charge of another organization in no time.

I'm not quite sure what that last sentence is.

And three of those trips are for work. Not very fun... Plus the Braves haven't been in town yet

You know you have no interest in the teams success this year.

I'm glad the international department did much better than our domestic scouting.

Didn't you just say that Wren dismantled the international department.

"Perez was signed before Wren completely eradicated the scouting network that took decades to build."

Yes, and I'm glad despite that they did a better job than our domestic scouting.

Yeah, the team is infinitely more enjoyable to watch this year. I love the revolving door, the cast of characters ... and I'd take this team is a short-series over last year's crew.

Assuming Fredi uses Kimbrel or no?
